The Rotary Club of Amman Citadel launched its "Vision of Hope" project today at the Specialized Eye Hospital in Amman, where the first five patients underwent cataract surgery. It is the club's first Global Grant in nearly fifteen years of service.

The project carries the slogan "Light returns… and hope is renewed," and its name is deliberate — in Arabic, رؤية means both eyesight and aspiration. For people who have been losing their sight to cataracts, often for years, restoring one tends to restore the other.

The Rotary Club of Amman Citadel Charitable Society and the National Aid Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday, setting up a formal way for the two sides to work together on medical and humanitarian support for families in need.

The agreement focuses on a group that often falls through the cracks: families receiving monthly cash assistance who are not covered by health insurance, and families still on the waiting list. Under the MoU, these households can be referred for medical support through agreed coordination channels, including cataract surgeries for cases that qualify.

The Rotary Club of Amman Citadel signed a twinning agreement with the Rotary Club of Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, during the club's regular meeting held on August 3rd.

The agreement was signed by President Wesam Al-Rashdan, representing the Rotary Club of Amman Citadel, and PP Filomena Aguiar, representing the Rotary Club of Vila Nova de Gaia.
