The Rotary Club of Amman Citadel Charitable Society and the National Aid Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday, setting up a formal way for the two sides to work together on medical and humanitarian support for families in need.
The agreement focuses on a group that often falls through the cracks: families receiving monthly cash assistance who are not covered by health insurance, and families still on the waiting list. Under the MoU, these households can be referred for medical support through agreed coordination channels, including cataract surgeries for cases that qualify.
NAF Director General Khitam Salem Al-Shunaikat said the memorandum reflects the Fund's direction toward expanding partnerships with civil society organisations and directing support to those who need it most. She said that when national institutions and community organisations work together, help actually reaches the families it is meant for — and shows up directly in their lives, their health and their dignity.
She added that the partnership is part of the Fund's wider effort to strengthen its complementary social services, known as "Cash Plus" — broadening what beneficiary families receive beyond direct cash, through social and health services that improve quality of life and make the social protection system work better for them.
For his part, the President of the Rotary Club of Amman Citadel Charitable Society, Wesam Mohammad Al-Rashdan, said cooperation with the National Aid Fund matters because it gives humanitarian and medical initiatives a clear, organised path — a real way to identify eligible cases and get medical help to them.
For our club, this is the kind of partnership that turns intention into action. Signing a document is the easy part. What comes next is the work: identifying cases, verifying eligibility, coordinating with the hospital, and following each patient through to recovery.
