Dear friends,

The past five months have granted me the opportunity to meet, during my official visits, almost ALL clubs in Armenia, Bahrain, Cyprus, Georgia, Lebanon and UAE. DGE Shawkat Tadros with AG Michel Fasheh have visited Palestine RCs and AG Esmat Mehaimed will visit the Club of Khartoum in Sudan. I would like to thank Shawkat, (Sheikh) Michel and Esmat. I wish I could visit those two countries where I will make good fellowship.
These meetings, as well as the district events, seminars, training sessions, and zone institute for 20B and new zone 21, were instrumental to enjoy seeing each other and exchanging ideas. They have further confirmed my conviction that we are a powerful and mature district, with extraordinary colleagues who humbly contribute their time, skills or talents to their communities.

Congratulations and thank you for everything you have accomplished till now as part of Rotary!

As the year 2018 comes to an end, it gives me great pleasure to address you, the 2,090* Rotarians of District 2452 (*Based on the membership transactions as of 31 October 2018). This year has put me in front of many challenges. I hope you can see your activity in Rotary from the same angle and that through the initiatives in your communities where you’ve succeeded to change preconceptions, bad attitudes and show that the Rotarians of District 2452 are united in their willingness to be helpful, creative, passionate and inventive.

You have shown your commitment for the first five months of the RY 2018-2019, so take the same steps in the future and ensure the sustainability of your club projects; you’ve managed to cover a wide range of issues in key areas, the six areas of focus. I hope you are pleased with what you have accomplished and I encourage you to achieve even more in the remaining six months starting January 2019.
You have demonstrated your positive attitude to the District pilot project “Civic education for Peacebuilding” mainly in Jordan and Lebanon. http://www.rotaryd2452.org/new/index.php/component/sppagebuilder/?view=page&id=109.The District AOF team was overwhelmed by your support. We have received welcome and praise from schools for this project’s curriculum and all related documents. Our vision has been gratified by the schools’ support. I would like to thank the District team and its advisory committee of Non-Rotarian qualified spouses, Clubs involved schools and partners. We have spent for the first time the entire amount released for District Grants. Bravo!

You have done more! Support has been provided to The Foundation, our Rotary Foundation: High participation at the seminar held in Dead Sea in conjunction with TRF Zone seminar, invitation to the DRFFC and TRF Country chair for lecturers and GMS, using the DDF, doing Global Grants, financially support within the Annual Funds – EREY Program–, PolioPlus program where the amount of 100.000 USD is our District goal. You have been part of the Rotary Friendship Exchanges. Rotarians from Lebanon visiting Tunisia, while Jordanians and Lebanese Jordanian were visiting Egypt and Rotarians from 7 countries visiting Lebanon!

During the Month of December our District will launch the first “New Generations Service Exchange,”a program between Lebanon and Jordan. It is a pilot program for three years 2018-2019 till 2020-2021.
