"Issa spoke his name for the first time in his life during the program". This statement summarizes the success our Autism project had made in the small village of Hartha.
During our meeting on October 8th, Melissa Diamond, the Executive Director of A Global Voice for Autism, our partners in implementing the Autism Awareness project in Hartha gave a presentation about the success of the project in Hartha. The program components included
  • Parent and Teacher Training in Evidence-Based Practices for Autism Support
    • Theoretical Training and Cooperative (Practical Training)
  • Support Groups
    • Social Skills Group
    • Parent/Sibling Support
  • Community Education, Awareness and Inclusion Events
Several children showed great improvement in their situation like speaking their names for the first time, learning to answer community safe questions and reducing challenging behaviour.

Furthermore, several community events were held like
  • Inclusive Community Clean-Up Day where 140 bags were collected
  • Jordan's First Autism Inclusive Carnival that had more than 300 participants

The meeting was attended by our community sponsors, Careem who gave support to the project through providing transportation credit to the team. At the end of the meeting, Melissa was inducted as an Honourary Member in the club to recognize her efforts in our community.
